Remix Project

For this project, I was given two album albums to work on merging to create something entirely new. I chose the Crusaders album Street Life, then hidden underneath was Helen Reddy’s Greatest Hits. I began the project by scanning both of the albums into a tiff format, then I took them both into Adobe Photoshop. In I began extracting imagery, symbols, and text as well as text. To curate the final album “Crush” by the “Raiders” I combined both the text and imagery in wider to make a completely new album. I also used the pink shade from the Crusader’s Album in order to create the bold color on the greyscale taken from Helen Reddy’s album. To add the additional text to the cover and poster I chose a hairline text that I felt gave a very contemporary feeling such as the new cover.

On the way to the last album rendition I created three different album covers as well as two different posters. Then decided on the final version. Last of all I created the hoodie mockup, and a tote bag mockup in Photoshop.
